Therapy for Adults

Sometimes life is hard and you need someone to talk to.  Sometimes you need someone to tell you that what is happening to you is manageable and that you are capable of getting through it and that you are not going to loose your mind in the process.

If you feel stuck, lost, alone, depressed, anxious or worried that something is not right, therapy can help.  Very few people need or want to go to therapy for long periods of time.  Successful therapy that is the right fit, with the right person is often only needed for only relatively brief periods of time. Finding a good therapist who can work with you is one of the best investments you can make for yourself.

Self-help books are a good resource, but a therapist who knows you well will save you money down the road.

Life events create situations that can feel unmanageable.  If the life event reminds the person, even unconsciously, of older things that have happened to them, things can feel much worse than they actually are.  Speaking with a therapist can provide people with a deeper understanding of their situation and provide them with increased options about what to do about it.  It also provides kind, gentle, hopeful and predictable support while you are going through something difficult.

Trauma happens when people have to suffer through difficult things alone.

No one deserves to be alone when something bad is happening to them.
